About

As part of International Dark Sky Week 2025 we are welcoming people of all ages and abilities to come and join the global celebration of the night.

Our unique New Moon walk within the Dark Sky Park will start as the sun goes down with twilight kicking before the end of your walk. Our friendly astronomy team will discuss how you can help to protect the night, our night sky heritage and how the animals that we have here in Northern Ireland have adapted to do well in the dark.

If skies are clear our astronomy guides will be able to show you the Irish constellations, explaining their history and mythology and their connections to our landscape. If skies are too cloudy for stargazing we'll instead spend a bit more time indoors to explore the night sky digitally, and you will still enjoy a dark walk outside as well.

This event is for all ages and abilities and family friendly. Please dress weather appropriate and bring a torch (preferably red).

Collaboration with Dark Sky International.
