Get your walking boots ready for the Mid Ulster Sperrins Walking Weekend on 28 and 29 September 2024. In association with the Sperrins Partnership, the weekend includes moderate and challenging walks.
Saturday 28 September: Neo- Lithic- Ism 8km
This Moderate A-B Walk takes on the world view of the late Stone Age or Neolithic people who arrived predominantly into Ireland via the north of the island approximately 5-10,000 years ago.
Saturday 28 September: Wonders of the Bog 12km
This challenging walk starts on minor roads, transitioning to minor tracks and finally takes to the open hills above this homely village to get an overview of this microcosm of the Sperrins landscape.
Sunday 29 September: Spirit of the Lough 8km
This moderate lakeside walk on minor road and trail, takes in Longpoint Wood Nature Reserve and pays homage to the natural flora and fauna along the lough-shore as well as the poetry of Seamus Heaney.
All walks cost £10 and can be booked on the Far and Wild website.
