Lough Neagh cruises from Ballyronan Marina
Set sail from Ballyronan Marina aboard the Maid of Antrim for a Lough Neagh cruise or charter one of the several other boats offering boat trips on Lough Neagh. Enjoy a refreshing cruise on the impressive body of water with expert guides to talk you through the history, traditions and wildlife of this place.
Trips to nearby harbours and islands, fishing trips and leisure cruises are available. All offer incredible views of the nearby Sperrin Mountains, as well as the Belfast Hills, Mourne Mountains and more of the Northern Irish landscape. Relax on Ballyronan’s Blue Flag sandy beach
Take a while to unwind or play on Ballyronan’s beautiful little beach. It’s the perfect spot to chill out after some water sports or to enjoy some quality family time. Feel the sand between your toes and maybe even head into Lough Neagh for a paddle.
Ballyronan beach is as popular with families. That’s partly due to the glorious setting at the north-west of the enormous lough, with the Sperrin Mountains as its backdrop, but also due to the cleanliness of the beach, which was awarded the prestigious Blue Flag status in 2010.
Explore the marina
You don’t necessarily need to go into or onto the water to be able to enjoy Ballyronan Marina — the surrounding area has recently undergone a major upgrade and redevelopment. Enjoy a stroll around the marina, the nature trails running through a five-acre woodland or the many nearby walks. Enjoy the sights and sounds of the birds and waterfowl as you follow the wetland walk or hunker down in Ballyronan Wood bird hide for some serious birdwatching.
There’s a picnic area for you to stop off for a snack and a children’s play area, where little ones can burn off some of their energy. For those with even more energy to burn off, Ballyronan Marina is also the starting point for the Lough Neagh triathlon.
