About

Mountaineering Ireland in Partnership with The Outdoor Partnership will be leading a series of inclusive hikes suitable for individuals with disabilities, limited mobility and wheelchair users.

Inclusive Walks- Access the Sperrins - Davagh

Come join us at Davagh Forest park for our Inclusive Walk in partnership with Mountaineering Ireland, The Outdoor Partnership and Far and Wild Adventures.

The Hike will be suitable for individuals (aged 18+) with disabilities, limited mobility wheelchair users. The duration of the walk will be 4km with rest point opportunities a long the way, lasting no longer that 1 hour in duration.

Davagh Accessibile hike is on an historic route from the OM Dark Sky Centre to Beaghmore Stone Circles and back, Along the bespoke causway linking Davagh and the neolithic site at Beaghmore. It is a walk open to everyone of all abilities and particularly welcomes participants who require mobility assistance. Disability accessible bikes will be available with pilot cyclists.

Route information:

This session offers a low-level walking route with minimal gradient changes. A proportion of the walk will be along a flat boardwalk. Other sections will feature smooth forest trails and tarmac roads with small inclines.

The duration of the walk will be roughly 4km in length with rest point opportunities a long the way, lasting no longer that 1hour in duration.

Carers will have the opportunity to partake in the walks if they wish to or avail of the facilities within the Forest Park during the sessions.
