About

Dungannon Park boasts three scenic walks in a beautiful lakeside setting, offering visitors the perfect way to explore the park’s 70 acres of lush woodland, open parkland, and the picturesque 12-acre lake. Whether you're looking for a gentle stroll or a more energetic walk, there’s something for everyone.

Walking Trails

Explore the paths of the Park Trail, through mature woodland and beautiful planting, around the 12 acre freshwater lake which is at the heart of the park and your reward at the crest of Nunnery Hill is a fabulous view of the surrounding countryside – as far as Lough Neagh on a clear day.  The Park Trail is set amongst the beautiful backdrop of a 70 acre oasis. The walk’s interesting paths surround the ground’s mature woodland, brightly coloured flowerbeds and the magnificent 12 acre stream fed lake. High ground offers the walker splendid viewpoints of surrounding townland and countryside with views of Lough Neagh on a clear day (1.6miles).

Take the gentle Lakeside Walk to experience the full beauty of this 12 acre freshwater lake, created in the 1790s and home to ducks, swans, migrating Canadian geese, the occasional nesting Grebes otters and more rarely, kingfishers. You’ll pass the striking stone masonry dam with its waterfall, the Lady’s well at the far side of the lake – and the anglers who flock to the park which is renowned for its fishing (0.75miles). The Willow Way will lead you on a tree-lined walk (0.75miles).

Dungannon Park is designed to be accessible for visitors of all abilities. Many of the walking trails are well-maintained with paved or compacted gravel paths, making them suitable for wheelchairs and pushchairs. The children’s play area, picnic spots, and fishing jetties are designed with accessibility in mind, ensuring that everyone can enjoy the park’s beautiful surroundings.
