The HomePlace Poetry Brunch

About

We are finishing off our summer season with an afternoon of poetry, music and brunch. Join us in the company of poets Mícheál McCann, Niamh McNally and Patrick Deeley, who will read from their work, with musical interludes from Eilidh Patterson.

Mícheál McCann is a poet from Derry City whose first collection Devotion has just been published by Gallery Press. His poems have been anthologized in Queering the Green and Romance Options. He is the 2024 Publishing Fellow at the Seamus Heaney Centre at Queens.

Niamh McNally is a workshop facilitator here at HomePlace and has been published in The Tulsa Review, The Galway Review and HOWL: New Irish Writing. Niamh is a current Poet-in-Residence for Herstory, Ireland.

Patrick Deeley last read at HomePlace back in 2017. His awards include the 2019 Lawrence O'Shaughnessy Award and the Dermot Healy International Poetry Prize. His best-selling memoir, The Hurley Maker's Son, was published in 2016 and his eighth collection, Keepsake, was published in 2024.

Having released five studio albums, Eilidh Patterson is driven by her desire to connect with people. This desire has seen her perform regularly across Northern Ireland and at festivals such as SxSW in Austin TX and Celtic Connections in Glasgow, Scotland.

Lunch is included in the ticket price and will be provided by the wonderful HomePlace café. Grab your tickets quick as we have limited seating in the Strand Room for what promises to be a fantastic afternoon.
